We have spectacular Australian Stick insects for sale at excellent pricing. This harmless species has an amazing appearance, and is incapable of bites or stings. Reaching massive sizes, they consume vegetation and tend to thrive in captivity. Females lay eggs without the presence of males. These are for sale to permitted educational facilities and entomologists only. When you buy a phasmid from us, you automatically receive our 100% live arrival guarantee.
The species Extatosoma tiaratum, sometimes referred to as Macley’s Spectre, grows as thick as man’s thumb, and as long as his hand. Scorpion-like in appearance, they are slow and totally harmless. These insects are very easy to care for in captivity. We recommend screen cages as this allows them to climb all sides of the enclosure, but glass and plastic terrariums will work as well. Provide a small shallow food dish, such as a jar lid.
Room temperature is perfect, and please mist instead of providing a water dish. Eucalyptus is their natural food, but they also consume blackberry, oak, rose, raspberry, and romaine lettuce leaves. Females lay fertile eggs without males, a process called parthenogenesis. If you blow on them, they’ll sway back-and-forth like a leaf in the wind. A very personable stick insect that can crawl around your shoulders all day long.
